Introduction
For most people, it is likely that the first point of contact they will have with Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation are the thirteen shops, conveniently located in High Streets throughout Surrey and Middlesex.
While managed in most cases by a dedicated part-time manager, our shops depend to a great extent on loyal and hard-working teams of volunteer helpers. In turn, our shops depend on the kindness and generosity of the many people who donate clothing, gifts, books and furniture and, of course, on our customers.
Adding to the variety and attractiveness of the stock on sale, our shops present a highly desirable range of new gift items, together with a wide range of greetings cards.
Each shop has something different to offer: our Leatherhead shop has a small but cosy coffee area selling cakes, biscuits and a range of drinks; and several shops (those marked with an asterisk below) sell furniture. If you are in the area, why not visit our very newest shop in Station Parade, East Horsley.
A few years ago, the Foundation’s Trading arm developed a novel way of raising funds. Based on the commitment, skills and sheer hard work of upwards of 40 volunteers, a mail order fulfilment service is available to other charities – from August through to Christmas each year, thousands of orders containing Christmas cards and gifts leave our warehouse – every single one of which generates much-needed extra income for the Foundation.
